|link=none|align=left|width=300|height=200]This workshop, by Catalina Quiroz and Maria-Ines Arratia from The Institute of Cultural Affairs (ICA Spain), will explore the pivotal question of how to empower women's leadership in civil society. Given the importance and topicality of the issue, the summer workshop will have a follow-up, in-depth training.

Over the course of the workshop, participants will learn different dimensions of empowerment through a facilitative leadership style and gender approach, focusing on women of minority groups. The workshop participants will analyse women’s international legislation, gender sensitive policies, interventions and rights-based practices within their leadership role in education, governance and entrepreneurship. The training has been developed jointly by the ICA, Spain, and Empower Training & Development, UK, and is equally open to men and women as an exchange between the genders about this crucial subject is essential.

The workshop leaders and the conference coordinator of the conference Learning to live in multicultural world: tapping civil society's potential decided together to offer a workshop held in Spanish this summer, with simultaneous interpretation into English and, if needed, other languages, to accommodate the increasing number of Spanish speaking conference participants both from Spain and South America better. The conference team and particularly the workshop leaders are proud to announce that the workshop will see a follow-up, in-depth training from 1 to 5 April 2013 which will be supported by Grundtvig's Lifelong Learning Programme.

We are looking forward to welcoming participants who are interested in the subject or are already working in the field. There is a maximum number of 20 participants. They can be both men or women and also speak a language other than English. Should you be interested in this workshop which takes place in Caux at the Learning to live in a multicultural world conference 1-6 July, please register at: on-line registration form.
