Fiona Goggins, Communications Coordinator

Canberra, Australia

Fiona Goggins is the Communications Coordinator for the 2016 Just Governance for Human Security conference.

Yet another Australian with itchy feet, Fiona is fortunate to count herself among the global citizenry, having lived in Germany, the UK and Côte d’Ivoire, however she currently finds herself residing and working in Australia’s bush capital, Canberra.

Fiona undertook a Bachelor of International Studies majoring in Globalization at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, did a year’s exchange at the University of Tübingen in Germany, and in an apparent bid to prolong the dream of the student life for as long as humanly possible, went on to gain a Masters in Human Rights Law and Policy. She has a keen interest in human security issues and Just Governance in particular, especially where the rights of women and children are concerned, and continues to work with a small grassroots NGO for women living with HIV in Côte d’Ivoire, among other assorted projects.

This will be Fiona’s second stint at Caux, having worked in communications back when the conference was known as the Caux Forum for Human Security and covered the five pillars over the course of a single week. She is very much looking forward to being a part of the more in-depth conference concentrating exclusively on Just Governance issues, and is particularly passionate about the promotion of intersectional dialogue within the Caux context.

Fiona is a bibliophile, an activist, an avid and at times rabid traveler, a budding social entrepreneur and a self-confessed tropical fruit and lolcat enthusiast with a love of musical theatre – however her true passion is in the fine art of karaoke.
